This Full Day Tour of Florence gets underway at our Florence office, located near the Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio, which is the social and political centre of Florence. From there our friendly, informative guides will take you on a tour of the most famous Florentine points of interest including:

Ponte Vecchio (with its jewellery) and,
Piazza della Repubblica (with it Roman origins).

The introduction to Florence does not end there, your guide will take you further into Florence, choosing sites according to your interests, fully allowing you to get a sense of the city and its history. The tour will then lead you on to the superbly-designed Uffizi gallery.

Uffizi Gallery
The Uffizi Gallery / Il galleria degli Uffizi is renowned for its collection of artworks from the Italian renaissance period. The gallery is located in the historical center of Florence, adjacent to the famous Piazza della Signoria.
Highlight 2
Ponte Vecchio
Well known for its jewelry shops, the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) is made of stone, and consists of three segmental arches. Nowadays you will find jewelry, art dealers and souvenirs, but originally butchers shops occupied this bridge which is believed to date back to the ancient Roman times.

Piazza della Signoria
Being the focus of political life in Florence since the 14^th century, Piazza della Signoria is the main point of origin of the Florentine Republic. The piazza is an L-shaped square overlooked by the Pallazzo Vecchio, originally called Palazzo della Signoria of which this politically historical piazza was named after.

Piazza della Repubblica
Home to the Giubbe Rosse Café, a meeting place for famous writers and artists of the early 20^th century, Piazza della Repubblica is one of the main piazzas of Florence and has marked the city center since ancient Roman times.

Piazza del Duomo
Piazza del Duomo is located in the heart of the historical centre of Florence, and is home to the third largest cathedral in the world; the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore designed by Filippo Brunelleschi. This cathedral is renowned for its Renaissance dome which stands tall, towering above the city.

The Doors of Saint John Baptistery
Created during the 14^th and 15^th century by Andrea Pisano (south doors) and Lorenzo Ghiberti (north & east doors) respectively, the Baptistery Doors are part of the Florence Baptistery. The Baptistery is part of the Duomo complex, and its doors are famous for their bronze relief sculptures.

David & the Academy gallery
The famous Statue of David by Michelangelo is housed in the Accademia Gallery / Galleria dell’Accademia, along with a large collection of mostly 14^th to 17^th century paintings by Florentine artists.
