The Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) is a medieval stone arch bridge of the River Arno consisting of three segmental arches, and is famous for its jewelry shops, art dealers and souvenir sellers.

Named after Palazzo della Signoria, and nowadays called Palazzo Vecchio, the Piazza della Signoria is the symbol of the Florentine Republic and has been the center of political life in Florence since the 14^th century. This piazza is a historical and political landmark overlooked by the Palazzo Vecchio.

Piazza della Repubblica is a prominent square in Florence, and is home to the Giubbe Rosse Café, a well known meeting place for famous writers and artists of the early 20^th century.

Piazza del Duomo is one of the most visited places in the world. Home to the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore, designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, the cathedral is the third largest in the world and its grand Renaissance dome towers above the city.

The Florence Baptistery is part of the Florence Duomo complex, and is famous for its three sets of bronze sculptured doors. The south doors were created first during the 14^th century by Andrea Pisano. The north and east doors were later created during the 15^th century by Lorenzo Ghiberti.

The Accademia Gallery, or Galleria dell’Accademia, contains sculptures by Michelangelo; the most well know being the Statue of David. The gallery also contains a large collection of paintings by Florentine artists, mostly from the 14^th to 17^th century.
